Laura's Art Studio is located in Rowe, NM. Not only is it an art studio for Laura, but it is also home of the TARNOFF ART CENTER, a space for local art classes and destination workshops. The art center is an active space for local art classes for adults and children and also hosts intensive workshops for locals and artist travelers alike. There is a main painting studio and also spaces for blacksmithing, pottery, welding and iron working. Local artists and friends also attend free open studio sessions at the center, where artists can come together and simply create and collaborate without formal instruction. Laura Tarnoff was born in Chicago, Illinois, where at an early age, her Grandfather helped foster an appreciation and love for art. After high school, she went on to study at the American Academy of Art in Chicago where she earned a Degree in Illustration and Graphic Design. Soon after, she moved with her family to the Black Hills of South Dakota, where she continued at Black Hills State University earning a degree in Art Education. After teaching art in Colorado, the Black Hills in South Dakota, and Seattle, Washington, Laura has now settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she is continuing on with her artistic pursuits and spending time raising her son Sammy, with her husband Tom.
